Grandfather William's annual gathering (A Cirlce of All Nations) has been happening for well over a decade now. gaining a global recognition and attendace. In order to share knowledge, practices and help the unification of people of all cultures, this weekend gathering is one of a kind. Hournable Elders of the world speak of their concerns regarding our legacy, lifestyles, traditions and greatfully give teachings to assist and guide our paths, as well as providing various Healling Ceremonies that will take place.

Kokomville: Parc de le Verendrye, Quebec 

The Mid Summer Gathering is in the spirit to awaken “The Spirit of Mother Nature” laid out on the land we walk upon. To acknowledge the skills and wisdom of the ancestors to the blessing of “Mother Earth”. Activities will include gathering the resources with members of the Algonquin Nation living off the land, demonstrating their traditional skills in their survival on the land, various sharing times such as the Sunrise Ceremony and Sweat Lodges, as well as Elder, Men, Women and story telling Circles. Maigan Agik, Parc de Le Verendrye, Quebec:

A winter Pow-wow will be held at Maigan Agik on the weekend of March 15. Activities covering the two day will include snow sculptures, snow shoe races, beaver skinning contest, wood cutting and splitting races, just to name a few. A fishing contest will also be held through out the day on Saturday. The festivities will close with a feast at 3 p.m. Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend. Preparation for the annual maple sugar camp will begin around the begining of March. Due to the many years of tapping at the Kokomville location, this year some community members have choosen an alternate site known as Dents not far off route 117. A Quebec Regional Conference facilitated by the Sierra Youth Coalation (Campus Climate Challenge) will be held in Montreal at McGill University. Global warming issues will be discussed regarding carbon credit trading, resource control, and climate change with the history of colonization specifally in Quebec concerning First Nation communities. Skill-Sharing Workshop Weekend

Members of Kokomville Academy and Wigibiwajak attended a skill-sharing workshop and gave several presentations including an overview of the Academy project and its web site, a bannock making workshop, and an Algonquin language workshop. Plans were further discussed to hold a weekend workshop in colaboration with members of Le Co-op Generaux at Wigibiwajak in early February. Helping Hands Presentation

A presentation was offered discussing the history of Turtle Island and the effects of contempory practices on the environment.  Scheduled particants included members of a local organization known as the "Rainbow Warriors" who helped organize this event, private land owners, members of Weymotachie and Manaon (Adikamik First Nation ), and members of local Algonquian communities. A traditional Algonquin meal was served proir to the presentation. All were welcome to attend.

 Documentary Film Premier
